I also experienced the Silent Salesman
Harry, I also experienced the Silent Salesman this summer. I donated a chair to our church as part of their silent auction that they use to raise funds for the ministries that travel to faraway locations to take the message there. Well the individual that won an adirondack chair at the silent auction also ordered from me a footrest to go with the chair along with a square table and also an chaise lounger for his wife. Once again the customer being able to sit in the chair and feel the comfort made for many other items being sold.
Also, I just completed 11 days at the Oregon State Fair where I coordinated a booth for the Guild of Oregon Woodworkers and I offered a adirondack chair as part of a raffle fundraiser. Over 100 brochures were taken by interested attendees and many had the chance to sit in the chair. While at this time I am not sure how many orders I will get from this venture I did get many contact e-mails and will follow with people that have had the opportunity to sit in the chair and liked what they experienced (I call this planting the seeds). More on this as time goes by. Bottom line, thanks for giving us a great product to market that is very comfortable and salable!!
